On October 4, 2020, 23:00 under the order of the military-political leadership of Armenia, the Armed Forces of this country conducted military operations in gross violation of the norms and principles of international law, the Geneva Convention of 1949 and its Additional Protocols, UN Security Council resolutions, deliberately targeted the civilian population of Azerbaijan and the demilitarized zones, as well as non-military targets, clearly visible and distinguishable objects, including civilians using two large-scale long-range ballistic missiles, intensively fired on Turkoba village of Khizi region and Pirishikul village of Absheron region, which did not belong to the region where the combat operations took place. With this, the Armenian Armed Forces, planned an aggressive war against the Republic of Azerbaijan and committed a terrorist crime, AzVision.az reports referring to the press service of the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office.

Upon the fact, a criminal case has been launched under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (100.2 (waging an aggressive war), 29, 120.2.1 (premeditated murder by a criminal organization), 29, 120.2.4 (committed with special cruelty or in publicly dangers way), 29, 120.2.12 (attempted murder on the motive of national, racial, religious hatred or enmity), 186.3 (intentional destruction or damage to property, especially with extensive damage), 279.3 (creation of armed formations not provided by law) and the investigation will be carried out by the Prosecutor General's Office.

The Prosecutor General's Office states that the criminal military-political leadership of Armenia and the so-called regime in the occupied Karabakh region is directly responsible for committing crimes against the civilian population by firing heavy artillery at densely populated areas and settlements far from the war zone by the Armenian Armed Forces under the name of hitting military targets.
