Answering the reporter's question on this issue, the President of Azerbaijan said he was surprised by such information waste, AzVision.az reports.
"In my telephone conversations with the President of France, I have defended our position quite reasonably. First of all, I asked him to provide evidence, and if there is no such evidence, to apologize to the people of Azerbaijan. Secondly, I have already said that we do not need mercenaries. The Azerbaijani army is a strong army - it is included in the list of the 50 strongest armies in the world according to all international rankings. Excluding those in reserve and other paramilitary groups ready for battle, we have 100,000 servicemen in the army," he said.
Stressing that during the ten days of active combat operations, the Azerbaijani side was not provided with any evidence of the involvement of mercenaries, Ilham Aliyev said: "Today, the Azerbaijani Army is liberating our territories. The videos from the battlefield show how our artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles operate and Azerbaijani soldiers and officers raising our flags in the liberated lands. Therefore, these accusations are baseless, we categorically reject them, and we can not allow such rumours, unverified information to manipulate public opinion. Let them present evidence. Today is the tenth day of active combat operations and still, we have not been provided with any evidence".
