 Criminal case launched in connection with rocket attack on Ganja -UPDATED

"A criminal case has been launched in connection with the rocket fire by the Armenian armed forces on Ganja", Kamran Aliyev, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan told in a statement to journalists, AzVision.az reports.

Another bloody terrorist act was committed against Azerbaijani people by the order of the Armenian military-political leadership at around 2 am on October 11. The second largest city of Azerbaijan, the ancient city of Ganja, with a population of more than 500,000, which is located at a considerable distance from the frontline came under rocket fire by Armenians. Consequently, according to the preliminary data, nine civilians, including four women, were killed, more than 30 people were injured and severe damage was caused to the civilian infrastructure.

“In this regard, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan initiated a criminal case under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. Active investigation is underway at the scene. We will resort to all necessary international and domestic legal means to bring the Armenian military-political leadership to justice for this heinous crime committed by them against humanity," said the Prosecutor General.

As a result of the rocket firing by the Armenian armed forces on apartment buildings in the central part of Ganja, Azerbaijan’s second largest city, which is located at a considerable distance from the frontline, at about 2 am on October 11, nine people, including four women, were killed, and a total of 34 people, including 16 women and six minors were injured. Besides, more than 10 apartment buildings and over 100 facilities of various purposes were damaged.
