  Austrian Parliament approves proposal to mediate in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Austrian Parliament approved the proposal to mediate in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, AzVision.az reports.

The relevant proposal was initiated by Members of the National Council of Austria -Reinhold Lopatka, Ewa Ernst-Dziedzic and Pamela Rendi-Wagner.

The Federal Government, in particular the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs, is encouraged to continue to work at bilateral and multilateral levels to fulfil its obligations under both international law, the immediate cessation of hostilities, international law, in particular the civilian population, and the protection of civilian infrastructure.

In this context, the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs is encouraged to work at European level to ensure that the European Union provides humanitarian assistance to the affected civilian population, once again influencing all actors involved in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to ensure access to humanitarian assistance to civilians.

"In addition, the relevant Federal Minister is offered to work for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through substantive negotiations under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, and, if necessary, to facilitate direct talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Vienna."
