Azerbaijani army shows example of waging war in 21st century, says Russian militart expert

The Azerbaijani army set an example of waging war in the 21st century during the counter-terrorist operation to liberate the occupied lands, said the Russian military expert, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, Igor Korotchenko in an interview to Region Plus magazine.

"I can say with confidence that the headquarters of the world's leading countries study the scale of combat operations using modern weapons - unmanned aerial vehicles, ammunition, high-precision target destruction means. The world has never seen such an army which fights with another army using a large number of high-precision weapons. This is the first case in the history of the world in terms of the scale and intensity of the use of attack drones. Neither the United States, nor Russia, nor Israel, nor any other country in the world has used drones in this scale. In such confrontations, UAVs have proven to have an indisputable advantage. Also, we have to mention the tactics of the Azerbaijani army which destroy the Armenian air defence forces and equipment, and the mass use of drones to destroy armoured vehicles, highly protected targets and manpower," Korotchenko said.

He also highlighted that the use of high-precision weapons will minimize civilian casualties: “In this regard, Azerbaijan has not only achieved military success but also saved the lives of civilians living in the Nagorno-Karabakh. I think that there will be serious changes in the tactics of combat operations. Of course, this experience of the Azerbaijani army will be studied in detail”.
