Informing the ambassador about the following Armenian provocations that began on September 27, the minister said: "Armenia has been occupying Azerbaijani lands for about 30 years and committing a series of military provocations against our country".
He said that Azerbaijani settlements far from the frontline, civilians were subjected to Armenian terror and rocket fires, as a result of which civilians were killed and injured, civil infrastructure was severely damaged.
The Minister said that the counter-offensive operations conducted by the Azerbaijani Army within the internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan is just struggle based on international law and justice.
Talking about the achievements of our Armed Forces, Babayev said that during the visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Iran in February 2016, the Azerbaijani and Iranian governments signed an agreement on cooperation envisaging the continuation of construction, operation, use of energy and water resources on “Khudaferin” and “Maiden Tower” hydro junctions, hydroelectric power stations on Araz river. The liberation of Khudafarin Bridge and surrounding areas will allow the agreement to play an exceptional role in the region's water and energy supply.
Mousavi said relations between Iran and Azerbaijan, which have deep historical roots, are constantly expanding, adding that his country supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. He stressed that he would spare no effort to develop cooperation in the field of labor, employment and social protection.
