Pashinyan recruits court staff for fights in Karabakh region

The personnel shortage in the Armenian army has become a growing problem, AzVision.az reports citing the Armenian media.

The article published in "Jovokhurd" stated that the gaps in the army led to difficulties in the Armenian judicial system.

The article reads: “Currently, the judicial system has been subjected to certain undesirable processes. Many of the court hearings have been postponed these days due to the military situation. What do court hearings have to do with the military situation? According to our information, the cases are postponed due to staff problems in the courts”.

The article also highlighted that due to the fact that most of the penitentiary service employees had been on the front line in recent days, citizens detained for certain crimes were not taken to court. “Judges have no choice but to postpone court hearings frequently”, the article says.

At the end of the article, it is mentioned that the country was mobilized for the Karabakh war, and it is noted that many of those who volunteered for the fighting were members of the judiciary. In this regard, there is currently a shortage of personnel in the courts:

"The lack of staff has led to more cases in the judiciary than ever before. In addition, the current judiciary does not seem to be interested in investigating criminal cases regarding the current war in the country”.
