Over the past day, the Armenian armed forces shelled the positions of the Azerbaijani Army on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and in various directions of the frontline, and several residential settlements in Goranboy, Tartar, Agdam and Agjabadi regions using firearms, heavy artillery and mortars, said spokesman for the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant-Colonel Anar Eyvazov, Azvision.az reports.

Anar Eyvazov highlighted counter-attacks carried out by the Azerbaijani Army in response to the military provocations of the Armenian side. 

“The Armenian military attacks were prevented in the ongoing battles, mainly toward Agdere and Khojavend, and in the Zangilan region of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. Because of artillery strikes toward Tartar, the headquarters of the 7th mountain regiment of the 10th mountain division of the Armenian armed forces in the village of Tonashen, barracks, vehicles loaded with ammo and other military infrastructure were destroyed”, the spokesperson noted.

Anar Eyvazov also touched on the fake news and misinformation spread by the Armenian side which was doomed to defeat because of a counter-offensive led by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief: “Unlike Armenia, we inform the people of Azerbaijan and the world community about the success of our Army based on photos and videos taken in the battlefield with modern equipment. It is clear from these videos that the Azerbaijani Army does not fire on settlements and civilian infrastructure, but destroys only legitimate military targets with precise strikes”. 

"Currently, our troops are in full control of the operational situation. The victory is with us, "Anar Eyvazov said.
