  Kazakhstan welcomes agreement on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Kazakhstan welcomes the joint statement made by the Azerbaijani, Armenian and Russian leaders on a ceasefire in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone and the cessation of all hostilities, read a statement from the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

The agreements reached are in line with UN Security Council resolutions and can be the basis for resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, the statement said.

The Kazakh ministry emphasized Russia’s constructive role in reaching the agreement and its peacekeeping efforts aimed at the implementation of the agreements.

"We hope that in these difficult times, the Azerbaijani and Armenian peoples will work to ensure security in the region and create a solid foundation for lasting peace and reconciliation," the statement said.
