 Nearly 200 Russian peacekeepers arrive in Karabakh in last 24 hours

20 planes with 170 Russian peacekeepers travelled to Nagorno-Karabakh region in last 24 hours, AzVision.az reports citing the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.

It was noted that the transportation was carried out by Il-76 planes from Ulyanovsk-Vostoshny airport to Armenia. There were also 20 heavy vehicles with trailers on the planes.

Russian Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters started to accompany the peacekeepers arriving in Karabakh. Pilots escorted peacekeepers arriving at Ehrenbuni Airport to Goris and Khankendi

On November 10, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia signed an agreement to end six weeks of fierce fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Under the agreement, Russian peacekeepers are being deployed along the front line in Nagorno-Karabakh and the corridor between the region and Armenia.

A total of 1,960 Russian peacekeepers are to be deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh under a five-year mandate.
