The conference on the topic “Schengen, asylum reform and Europe's migration diplomacy: Has COVID-19 changed everything?” is organized by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), the State Migration Service told AzVision.az.
As part of the conference, Huseynov attended a session entitled “Making labour mobility work for all - Perspectives from the Eastern Partnership.” Daniela Morari, Ambassador, Head of Mission, Mission of Moldova to the European Union, and Violeta Wagner, Regional Portfolio Manager, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, ICMPD, also joined the session.
Speaking about the opportunities to benefit from labor migration, Huseynov stressed the possibility of tripartite benefits through effective management of labor migration. He said the creation and facilitation of legal channels for labor migration is beneficial not only for countries of origin and migrants, but also for countries of destination.
Huseynov also touched upon Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the EU in the migration field. He noted that the Joint Declaration on Mobility Partnership signed between Azerbaijan and the EU member states is one of the main documents covering the most important areas of cooperation between the two countries in the field of migration.
