 We forced Armenia to withdraw from Aghdam, says President Ilham Aliyev - VIDEO

We defeated Armenian side on the battlefield forcing them to withdraw its troops from the Aghdam region, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in his visit to Agdam city liberated from the Armenian occupation, Azvision.az reports.

"We will move to the liberated lands. The next direction is Aghdam city which we liberated the city itself and other occupied territories of the Aghdam region without firing off a single shot. By defeating the Armenian side on the battlefield, we forced them to withdraw its troops from the Aghdam region," the President noted.


Following over a month of military action to liberate its territories from Armenian occupation, on November 10, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia signed an agreement to end six weeks of fierce fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh.

A complete ceasefire and a cessation of all hostilities in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is introduced at 00:00 hours (Moscow time) on November 10.

Under the agreement, Aghdam region was handed over to Azerbaijan on November 20, 2020 which has been under occupation since 1993.
