  Lukashenko highly appreciates Russia

Moscow halted the "massacre" in the Nagorno-Karabakh region by playing an important role in the solution of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Minsk, AzVision.az reports.

"I would like to congratulate you on the recent developments in the Caucasus region. This will be criticised, but massive thanks to Russia for stopping the deadly fighting in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. And although we are still at the beginning of the road, we have come a long way to normalize the relations in the Caucasus. This is a very positive and good sign. We are committed to this position, "Lukashenko noted.

Lukashenko also highlighted that from the very beginning, he was deeply interested in the problems of the Caucasus region and discussed this issue with the leadership of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"I am very pleased that this crisis has been resolved for the last time, as was discussed in St. Petersburg. I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart", he added.
