The 3rd extraordinary meeting of the Islamic World Heritage Committee of ISESCO held in Rabat featured discussions on issue of specifying cultural heritage and ancient monuments destroyed by Armenians in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region and adding them to the relevant list.

The Committee has decided to establish a special commission to carry out this activity. The commission, together with the relevant government agencies of Azerbaijan, will prepare a report on the restoration of ancient Islamic heritage monuments destroyed by Armenians.

During the meeting, another 66 examples of ancient heritage from the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, Palestine, Yemen, Morocco, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait and Oman were inscribed by ISESCO on the Islamic World Heritage List.
