Stuck in Armenia for six years, freed Azerbaijani hostage reveal suffering torture

I am very happy that I returned to Azerbaijan, said Shahbaz Guliyev who was recently released from the Amrenian captivity at the press conference at the Center for Analysis of International Relations, AzVision.az reports.

"We were taken hostage while visiting the graves of our parents. Dilgam was taken hostage after me. I was tortured by them. I was blindfolded, my lungs were destroyed. They did not even let me sleep in the evening. They put something that his voice did not allow a person to sleep", Shahbaz noted.

Shahbaz highlighted that they suffered the extreme torture throughout their stay adding that Armenia's so-called "national security" organization broke the batons on their backs.

"They expelled the members of the International Committee of the Red Cross to prevent them from looking at my hand. My hand was broken. I was told to lie that Dilgam was sent by Azerbaijan. They didn't take good care of me when they took me to Shusha. We were locked in a cell, "Guliyev added.

Note, in July 2014, three Azerbaijani people were visiting their relatives’ graves in Kalbajar. Shahbaz Guliyev and Dilgam Asgarov were seized by Armenia-backed troops while Hasan Hasanov, was shot to death. They were released from the captivity on December 14, 2020.
