  ANAMA neutralises 136 pieces of unexploded ordnance

On January 13-14, 2021, ANAMA received 11 (eleven) emergency calls from the ″102 ″ Service Call Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and 1 (one) call from the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations about detection of artillery shell fragmentations in the territory of Agjabadi, Agdam, Jabrayil, Goranboy, Gubadli, Zangilan, Tartar, Khojovand regions and Shusha city, ANAMA reports.

 

Based on 12 callouts, the Agency's special mobile operational teams in close coordination with the specialists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out 22 operational and emergency visits. During the search operations, 121 pieces of unexploded ordnance (UXO), 19 pieces of anti-personnel mines, 45 pieces of anti-tank mines, 14 pieces of anti-tank mine fuses, 7 006 pieces of small arms ammunition of various calibers, 1 piece of hunting gun and 11 fragmentations of exploded shells were found.

During the search operations, 6 897 722 sqm (690 hectares) of territory were inspected.

The Agency's demolition teams neutralised 136 pieces of unexploded ordnance (UXO), 579 pieces of mines and 5 bomblets. Explosive Ordinance Risk Education specialists conducted mine risk awareness sessions and safety instructions among 93 602 civilians.
