EU suspends Twinning Project in Armenia
The European Union (EU) has suspended the implementation of the Twinning Project with Armenia.
According to Armenian News-NEWS.am’s information, the European Commission representation in Armenia has already formally informed the Government of Armenia about this decision.

The reason is Armenia’s decision to enter the Customs Union.

But it is not yet clear whether this suspension is final, or temporary.

To note, the Twinning Project is carried out in Armenia since 2009, and about eighteen projects were implemented with a variety of state departments. These projects are primarily aimed at the training of staff.

The objective of the Twinning Project is to conduct institutional reforms within state agencies, in compliance with EU standards and working models, and bring Armenia’s legislation closer to EU’s common legislation.
