Germany ready to contribute to peace process in Nagorno-Karabakh, says FM Maas

We have to secure a lasting solution in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, said German Foreign Minister Hayko Maas in his speech at the PACE winter session as part of his country's chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

FM stated that Germany is ready to contribute to the process within the OSCE Minsk Group and assits to find a solution.

"We continue to work with our European Union partners in the context of the OSCE Minsk Group and the Eastern Partnership, hoping that both countries can reach an agreement," Maas noted.

"Even after the peace was achieved, there were difficulties faced by both countries. Any progress in the process will depend on the will of the two countries to enter a dialogue with each other, and we certainly support this process. We know that the process has an impact on stability in both countries and the region", he added.
