Latvian Embassy becomes NATO coordinator in Azerbaijan

The Latvian embassy in Azerbaijan has started acting as a NATO coordinator in Azerbaijan, Latvia's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Dainis Garančs said, Azvision.az reports.

"As the Head of the NATO Coordinating Embassy in Baku, I would like to emphasize the fruitful cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO in the implementation of the Resolution on Women, Peace and Security. In September 2018 within the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council, Azerbaijan initiated and hosted the first NATO / EAPC High Level Conference on Women, Peace and Security.

These issues, along with peacekeeping, civil-military cooperation and infrastructure will be in the spotlight for the next two years. "

Note, from January 2021 to December 31, 2022, the Latvian Embassy in Azerbaijan will act as NATO coordinating embassy. Previously, the coordinator was the Hungarian embassy.
