 Turkish-Russian Monitoring Center starts operating in Azerbaijan

The Turkish-Russian Monitoring Center in Azerbaijan's liberated lands is starting operations on January 30, Saturday, AzVision.az reports.

The opening of the center is taking place in Azerbaijan's Aghdam district.

Azerbaijan's Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov, Turkish Deputy Minister of National Defense Yunus Emre Karaosmanoglu and Russian Deputy Minister of Defense Alexander Fomin attended the opening ceremony.

The Monitoring Center covers a total area of 4 hectares. The center has 65 modular type rooms, a briefing hall, canteen and a medical point. All rooms have been supplied with all necessary equipment.

Major General Abdullah Katirci will lead the Turkish staff of the monitoring center, and Major General Viktor Fedorenko will head the Russian staff.

Following Azerbaijan's liberation of its lands from Armenian occupation, an agreement was reached to establish a monitoring center in the liberated lands. The monitoring will be carried out by representatives of Turkey and Russia.
