In photos: What we saw in Aghdam 27 years later

We are in Aghdam… It is impossible not to be horrified as we visit the Azerbaijani lands liberated from occupation. Everything was destroyed, buildings and houses were demolished, and infrastructure was razed to the ground. Once famous for its historical monuments, now Aghdam is known in the world as “Hiroshima of the Caucasus”, “Ghost Town”.

Before the occupation, the city of Aghdam had factories, a railway station, medicine, music, agricultural schools and a theater. Now they are replaced by ruins.

An inch of land in Aghdam is clear proof of Armenia’s slavery, vandalism and fascism. It is so difficult to imagine all this with words…

AzVision.az presents photos it took from Aghdam.
