Communication between Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia is carried out through the Lachin corridor, said Spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova at a briefing, AzVision.az reports.
Answering the Armenian journalist's question about the use of the Agdara-Vardenis road, Zakharova stated: “According to the paragraph 6 of the peace statement signed by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on November 9, the communication between the Nagorno-Karabakh region and Armenia is through conducted the Lachin corridor"
Note,under the peace statement, Russian peacekeepers were deployed along the front line in Nagorno-Karabakh and the corridor between the region and Armenia. A total of 1,960 Russian peacekeepers were deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh under a five-year mandate.
Also, according to the agreement, on 20 November, Armenia handed over the Aghdam region which lies to the east of Nagorno-Karabakh, to Azerbaijan. This followed on 25 November by the Kalbajar region to the northwest of Nagorno-Karabakh.
