  Azerbaijani war veteran receives prosthetic eye brought from Israel

Israeli doctors, who are in Azerbaijan to provide medical assistance, treated their first patients today, the Israeli Embassy in Baku wrote on its Facebook page.

An Azerbaijani war veteran, who lost his eye during the 44-day Patriotic War, today received a prosthetic eye that was brought from Israel.  

“First day, no time to waste. Today the Israeli medical team treated their first patients. Mr. Nuralı Abdullayev lost his eye during the war, and his face was deformed, but today he received a prosthetic eye that was brought from Israel. Tens of other Azerbaijanis have already received treatment. Doctors working tirelessly,” the embassy said.

On the initiative of the YASHAT Foundation, with the support of the Israeli Embassy in Baku and the National Center for Ophthalmology named after academician Zarifa Aliyeva, a delegation of ophthalmologists from Israel arrived in Azerbaijan to provide medical and humanitarian assistance.
