One of Colombia's leading media ‘El Pais’ has published an article entitled "Azerbaijan and Colombia strengthen relations" based on an interview with Azerbaijani ambassador to Colombia, Mammad Talibov, Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Mexico told AzVision.az.
In the article, 29th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide committed by the Armenian armed forces on February 26 killing more than 600 civilians was also commemorated.
It was stated that after about 30 years, Azerbaijan liberated the lands occupied by Armenia, and this was formalized in a trilateral agreement signed on November 9, 2020.
The article quotes the Ambassador as saying that the liberated territories were completely destroyed by Armenia, which reminds the situation in Hiroshima after the disaster.
Ambassador notes that Colombia is one of the traditional partners of Azerbaijan in the Latin American region and has diplomatic missions in both countries. Talibov also expressed gratitude for Colombia's just position on the conflict, which was very important for our country.
