Journalists to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in Azerbaijan

The journalists working in the media field will get vaccinated in accordance with the agreement reached between the Public Association of Medical Territorial Units ( TABIB ) and the Press Council of Azerbaijan, said Chairman of the Press Council Aflatun Amashov adding that the criteria will be announced next week, AzVision.az reports.

"Currently, citizens over the age of 40 have been vaccinated in Azerbaijan. Some journalists also received the COVID-19 vaccine. However, the Press Council of Azerbaijan believes that journalism is a risky field and their average age is 20-40. It is necessary to vaccinate the journalists against the coronavirus", Amashov noted.

He added that journalists working in the media and over the age of 18 will be able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in accordance with the initial agreement.
