“In my call with President Ilham Aliyev earlier this week, I also took the chance to thank him for Azerbaijan‘s financial support to the global COVID19 response, collaboration with the WHO, advocacy for vaccine equity and solidarity among the Non-Aligned Movement members,” Ghebreyesus tweeted on Monday.
The WHO chief said he had a very constructive dialogue with President Aliyev on vaccine equity.
“I thanked him for his commitment and reassured him that the WHO and COVAX partners stand ready to support Azerbaijan in receiving and deploying its first COVID-19 vaccines in the next few days. Together!”
