 Karabakh War Crimes Investigation Commission holds first meeting

The Ankara-based Commission for Investigation of Karabakh War Crimes held its first meeting via videoconferencing.

Salih Kurt, Commission Chairman, Hulusi Kilic, former Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan, member of the Commission’s Board, Yucel Karauz, a retired Turkish general, Oleg Kuznetsov, a Russian historian and political analyst, Muslum Akturk, a Turkish writer and publicists, and lawyer Mustafa Kuran made speeches at the meeting, AzVision.az reports.

Chairman Kurt expressed confidence that the Commission will fulfill its mission with dignity and will be recognized as a herald of justice by expanding its activity.

Describing the liberation of Azerbaijani territories from occupation as a historic event and national horror, former ambassador Kilic said the investigation of war crimes committed by the ruthless enemy is a moral duty.

Yucel Karauz, in turn, said he is convinced that the Commission will achieve its goals.

The Commission’s next meeting is scheduled for May 18.
