CSTO doors should be open for Azerbaijan, says Moscow

The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) should keep its doors open for all states, including Azerbaijan, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko told reporters on Monday, AzVision.az reports.

The Russian diplomat also named a detail that could prevent Azerbaijan from joining the CSTO.

“The detail is that some points of the organization's charter presuppose diplomatic relations between the participating countries. Now there are no such relations between Baku and Yerevan. As soon as such relations are approved, we hope that sooner or later this will happen and then the issue can be put on a practical level,” Rudenko added.
