Azerbaijani citizen says he was severely tortured during Armenian captivity

An Azerbaijani national talked about the tortures and inhumane behavior he had been subjected in Armenian captivity during the First Karabakh War.

“I was wounded on March 7, 1994, and I stayed in Ashaghi Seyidahmadli village of Fuzuli district. On March 8, Armenians came and took me from that village. After a month and a half of treatment in a hospital in Khankendi, I was taken to the Shusha prison,” Zahid Hasanov, who gave testimony as a victim in a preparatory hearing held at a Baku court on the criminal case of Armenian war criminals Mkrtchyan Ludwig Mkrtichovich and Khosrovyan Alyosha Aramaisovich, who tortured Azerbaijani citizens taken captive during the First Karabakh War and committed other crimes, told journalists, AzVision.az reports.

The Azerbaijani national noted that he had been subjected to torture by both Mkrtichovich and Khosrovyan during Armenian captivity.

“Not only me, but all Azerbaijani prisoners had been offended and beaten. When I was in the hospital, Khosrovyan often came there to beat the wounded and patients,” he added.
