"As you know, the negotiation process has lasted for about 30 years without any result," Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the official opening ceremony of the Vagif Poetry Days.
"The current progress of events, the period of the Second Karabakh War and the actions of the international forces show that this issue could not be resolved through negotiations. They wanted us - the Azerbaijanis to be reconciled with this situation. We had a completely different position, and I have never hidden it. I said that if the issue is not settled peacefully, we will restore our territorial integrity through war. All the norms and principles of international law give this right to us. The UN Charter, UN Security Council resolutions and historical justice have given us this right. We achieved it," the head of the stated said.
