On August 26, "Culture and Enlightenment" TV channel broadcasted a programme “Oltin ko'prik: Ozarbayjon” (Golden Bridge Azerbaijan) on the initiative and project of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan, AzVision.az reports.

The programme covers the historical friendship between the two leading states of the Turkic world- Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, which have a lot in common regarding language, religion, culture and traditions and share common values.

The programme also touched on the views of well-known figures of both countries such as Nizami Ganjavi, Alisher Navai, Mohammad Fuzuli, Babarahim Mashraf, Huseyn Javid, Gafur Gulam on the development of literary relationships.

In the programme, Gulbahor Ashurova, an associate professor at the Alisher Navoi University of Uzbek Language and Literature in Tashkent and director of the Fuzuli Center, said that 2021 was declared the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi" by President Ilham Aliyev in Azerbaijan. In Uzbekistan, the 580th anniversary of the great poet Alisher Navoi will be widely celebrated in accordance with the order of President Shovkat Mirzayev. She also spoke about the role of both poets in the literary relationship of the peoples of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

Also, Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan Samir Abbasov also talked about the high level of friendly ties between the two countries. He mentioned the cultural and literary ties between the two countries since the Middle Ages until the twentieth century, the decades of literature and art in the Soviet era, the work done in this direction during independence, mutual visits of heads of state and prospects for relations.

Besides, Professor of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS Almaz Ulvi Binnatova touched on the literary relationship with Uzbekistan and the work done in this direction.

The programme also covered the activities of the Azerbaijan Center named after Fuzuli under the Alisher Navoi University of Uzbek Language and Literature in Tashkent. The center disseminates information about the literature, common values and projects of both countries.

Moreover, the views of famous literary critics of Uzbekistan Mamatgul Hazratgulov, Islam Yagubov, Abdulla Ulugov, and Azerbaijan’s Pasha Karimov, Akif Azalp, Umid Mirzayev and others were featured in the programme.
