Security forces carried out simultaneous operation against two addresses simultaneously in İstanbul’s Pendik district on Friday morning.
Counterterrorism units from the İstanbul Police Department raided the pre-determined locations which was backed by special operations police. No further detail has been shared with the press yet.
Turkey launched a wide-scale terror operation on June 24 targeting the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group, as well as militants from the PKK and the Revolutionary People`s Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C), detaining more than 1,000 suspects believed to be linked with the groups. Local media reports say the vast majority of detainees are Kurdish and leftists.
