The appeal, read out by Ismail Serageldin, co-chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, the importance of discussions on the world’s most urgent issues during the forum.
He reminded that 8th Global Baku Forum coincides with the 880th birth anniversary of great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi. Pope Francis noted that the great poet’s work embodies unity and solidarity.
“In tribute to Nizami Ganjavi’s work, the year 2021 has been declared the Year of Nizami Ganjavi in Azerbaijan,” he added.
