Erdogan calls ECO states to build close relations with Azerbaijan

President of Turkey Recep Tayyib Erdogan called on the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) to build close relations with Azerbaijan in his speech at the 15th Summit of the ECO in Turkmenistan, AzVision.az reports.

"The liberation of Azerbaijani lands from the Armenian occupation has created new prospects for the development and prosperity of the region. The steps, which were taken by Azerbaijan, support the normalization of the situation in the region. Turkey will continue to stand by Azerbaijan. Therefore, it is very essential for the Economic Cooperation Organization to have close ties with Azerbaijan", Erdogan noted.

Erdogan also brought attention to the development of transport corridors mentioning the significance of the Zangezur corridor.

He also added that the East-West transport corridor and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway play an important role in cargo transportation.
