Armenia continues to pollute Okhchuchay river

“The constant pollution of Okhchuchay river in Armenia has negatively affected drinking water supply and irrigation in the region. An appeal was made to the international organizations for preventing continuous pollution of the Okhchuchay and taking urgent measures, and calls were made to solve this problem together, " Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Mukhtar Babayev said during the panel discussions of the UNEC Economic Forum.

The minister emphasized that despite all those legitimate appeals and demands, Armenia continues to contaminate Okhchuchay river.

"A research group is being established to identify scientifically grounded measures for prevention pollution of the Okhchuchay and prepare an appropriate rehabilitation program. Actually, we need an international research experience in this regard," the minister added.
