Dialogue with Russia should be maintained: Turkish official

Turkey and other countries must maintain a dialogue with Russia to resolve the situation in Ukraine, Spokesman for the Turkish president Ibrahim Kalin said at the international forum in Doha, AzVision.az reports citing Turkish media.

"If everyone breaks relations with Russia, then who will talk to it?" Kalin said. "Ukrainians must get all possible support to be able to defend themselves. But Russia’s argument must be heard."

"At Turkey, we are doing our best for the world," Kalin said by pointing to the importance of continuing the dialogue with Russia. "Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has spoken to both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin two or three times. President Erdogan will talk to President Putin again in the coming days."
