Azerbaijani CEC: Pre-election TV debates say about level of candidates
In any country there are events much worse than what happened during the debates of presidential candidates in Azerbaijan, the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov said in the Independent Press Center in Baku on Wednesday.
He said that what happened during the debates said about the level of the candidates.

"The society should not get worried about it. It is impossible to ruffle serious politicians and the main question is how a politician will behave in an emergency situation," the head of CEC said.

According to him, during the TV debates the only offense has been made by a presidential candidate Jamil Hasanli who insulted the head of the state during the broadcast, which is strictly forbidden by the Constitution.

"CEC has always tried to make concessions to the candidates, and this time we confined ourselves to serious warning," Panahov stressed.
