Armenian opposition starts blocking streets, demanding PM to resign

Armenian opposition forces initiated large-scale protest actions early on Monday, blocking central streets in Yerevan with the call for resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, AzVision.az reports citing TASS.

"The police have received the political order and therefore attempt to act by force but this will not stop us," lawmaker Tigran Abramyan told reporters.

Special forces of the Armenian police started detaining opposition supporters. Clashes with police occur in different places across the city. About ten streets and avenues in the Armenian capital remain blocked so far and traffic jams are present all over the city.
