Ro-Pax type ferry-vessel Azerbaijan ranked among top 50 vessels in world

According to the ranking "Significant Ship 2021" published by the British Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA), the Ro-Pax type ferry vessel “Azerbaijan” owned by “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping” CJSC (ASCO) was included in the ranking list of the top 50 vessels of the world. This was reflected in the ranking list regularly published by the Institution.

According to the choice of the oldest shipbuilding institution in the world, the ferry-vessel “Azerbaijan”, built on the basis of the project developed by the Bureau of Marine Engineers of Odessa in collaboration with the experienced specialists of ASCO, is considered one of the top 50 vessels in the world in terms of design, size, and type.

Under the terms of the RINA, experts provide their opinion upon reviewing vessels that were launched last year and identify the list based on such opinions.

The process of selection of the best vessels is carried out on the basis of the key technical parameters of cruise planners, ferries, supertankers, container, and vehicle carrying vessels.

The ferry vessel “Azerbaijan” is capable of carrying 100 passengers, 56 cistern-type freight cars, or 50 trucks / TIR vehicles.

The ferry vessel which was built by the Baku Shipyard under the order of ASCO was commissioned on March 1, 2021 with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva.
