"The visit of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen to Azerbaijan's Baku and the support of President Ilham Aliyev in ensuring the energy security of Europe are of particular importance. Export of Azerbaijani gas is a priority for Bulgaria. Bulgaria and Azerbaijan currently have a contract for the export of 1 billion cubic meters of gas, but we want to buy even more. Today, Bulgaria's gas consumption is 3 billion cubic meters, and for the missing volumes, we must supply gas from other sources. Our contract with Gazprom expires at the end of this year, and the contract will not be renewed." Plevneliev said.
