President Ilham Aliyev receives credentials of new ambassadors of several countries

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has accepted credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia Gombosuren Munkhbayar.

Ambassador Gombosuren Munkhbayar presented his credentials to the head of state.

President Ilham Aliyev had a conversation with the ambassador.

The ambassador conveyed President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh`s greetings to President Ilham Aliyev.

The head of state thanked for the greetings, and asked Gombosuren Munkhbayar to extend his greetings to the Mongolian President.

Touching upon the bilateral relations, the Azerbaijani President hailed the good level of mutual activity in the political sphere, said that active cooperation is being implemented in international organizations, and emphasized that there is full mutual understanding in the bilateral format. In this regard, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the necessity of increasing the level of trade and enhancing contacts between business communities in terms of the expansion of economic relations, and noted the possibility of considering investment projects. At the same time, the head of state emphasized that there are good opportunities for cooperation in the transport area taking into account the opportunities of the international transport corridor of Azerbaijan, and also in the humanitarian sphere.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that the ambassador will spare no effort in developing relations between the two countries.

Gombosuren Munkhbayar said that bilateral ties have been actively developed in recent years, especially after the Mongolian President`s visit to Azerbaijan in 2018. Underlining that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the ambassador conveyed the invitation of the President of Mongolia to the President of Azerbaijan to visit his country at a convenient time for him.

President Ilham Aliyev accepted the invitation with gratitude.

The sides also discussed cooperation in the areas of education, tourism and investment.

Ambassador Dipuo Bertha Letsatsi-Duba presented her credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

The head of state had a conversation with the ambassador.

Hailing the level of relations between Azerbaijan and South Africa, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the necessity of revitalizing cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, trade and investment. President Ilham Aliyev, at the same time, emphasized that despite the very good level of the political contacts, economic and trade indicators are at a low level. In this regard, the head of state expressed hope that the existing potential will be used for expanding economic ties.

Saying that Azerbaijan`s relations with the African countries have been further expanded, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the cooperation in the Non-Aligned Movement. Noting that Azerbaijan has made very serious efforts to strengthen solidarity as part of this organization, the head of state described the organization of the Baku conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network and the Youth Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Azerbaijan as a good example of it.

Dipuo Bertha Letsatsi-Duba noted that her country considers Azerbaijan a strategic partner in the region and in general, and underlined that the Republic of South Africa is interested in raising bilateral cooperation to a higher level. The ambassador expressed hope that relations between the two countries will expand even further.

During the conversation, the sides discussed issues of cooperation in the field of tourism, as well as noted the importance of establishing relations between the business communities of the two countries and expanding economic and trade relations.

Ambassador Adoum Dangai Nokour Guet presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

The head of state had a conversation with the ambassador.

Praising the level of political relations between the two countries, President Ilham Aliyev also said that close cooperation is carried out within international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement, adding that the countries show mutual support for each other. In this regard, the head of state hailed Chad`s support for the extension of Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement.

President Ilham Aliyev lauded Chad`s support for Azerbaijan`s fair position in international organizations, and the fact that the country welcomed the liberation of Karabakh from occupation.

The head of state noted that during the occupation, Azerbaijan`s material and cultural monuments, cultural heritage related to the Islamic religion, and 65 mosques were razed to the ground by Armenia.

Taking into account the good level of the political relations, the Azerbaijani President expressed his confidence that economic and trade cooperation will also yield positive results.

The head of state recalled the visit of the representative of Chad – Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hissein Brahim Taha to Azerbaijan, as well as his visit to liberated Shusha, and his recent meeting with him as part of the Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya.

Adoum Dangai Nokour Guet said that as an ambassador he will spare no effort in strengthening the bilateral relations. The ambassador said: “You are a person distinguished in the Islamic Ummah by your wise leadership and also by your approach in expanding cooperation and establishing collaboration on an even stronger foundation among all the countries belonging to this Ummah, the states which are bound together by bonds of brotherhood.”

Ambassador Adoum Dangai Nokour Guet pointed out that Azerbaijan`s humanitarian projects implemented in African countries as part of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are of great importance and highly appreciated it. The diplomat hailed the allocation of grants by Azerbaijan for students from the member countries of these organizations to study in the country.

President Ilham Aliyev stressed the necessity of using existing potential for revitalizing cooperation between the two countries, adding that the expansion of relations meets mutual interests. Noting that although located far from each other, Azerbaijan and New Zealand enjoy good political dialogue, the head of state also emphasized the importance of developing economic and trade relations. In this regard, President Ilham Aliyev noted the need to provide each other with information on the potential of both countries, and establish contacts between the business communities.

Zoe Coulson-Sinclair said that it is her first visit to Azerbaijan, and she is happy to visit a very beautiful country of Azerbaijan. The ambassador stressed the significance of realization of the existing potential in terms of the expansion of relations. Underlining that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the ambassador said that Azerbaijan and New Zealand attach great importance to the expansion of relations on the international arena.
