President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Head of the Republic of Dagestan of the Russian Federation Sergey Melikov on December 6, AzVision.az reports.
President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the successful cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and some regions of the Russian Federation, including the Republic of Dagestan, saying that this contributed to the development of Azerbaijan-Russia bilateral relations.
Also, the head of the state stated that Azerbaijan-Russia relations have successfully developed in 2022. President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the significance of mutual visits and effective meetings and the next Azerbaijan-Russia Interregional Forum which has recently been held.
Furthermore, President Aliyev touched on the historical relations between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Dagestan adding that these relations have strengthened in the modern era. In this regard, President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that Sergey Melikov's visit to Azerbaijan will contribute to the expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Dagestan in specific areas.
