Talks with peacekeepers ended in Khojaly - UPDATED

Discussions between a group, consisting of experts from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, the State Service for Real Estate Affairs under the Ministry of Economy and the "AzerGold" Closed Joint Stock Company and Russian peacekeepers' command have ended. 

The negotiations of the monitoring group with the commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, Major General Andrey Volkov, took place at the headquarters of the peacekeepers in Khojaly. The members of the monitoring group returned to Shusha following the talks.

A group consisting of experts from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, the State Service for Real Estate Affairs under the Ministry of Economy and the "AzerGold" Closed Joint Stock Company made another visit to Khojaly district, AzVision.az reports.

The goal of the visit is to hold the second stage of negotiations on conducting environmental monitoring in the areas where Russian peacekeeping forces are temporarily deployed in Karabakh.

A few days ago, the first round of negotiations took place. Before the talks, some discussions started with the Russian peacekeeping contingent on the Khankendi-Lachin road, but later the negotiations continued at the headquarters of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Khojaly.

The Russian peacekeeping contingent has accepted the package of proposals from the Azerbaijani side and it is agreed to hold monitoring. Currently, the delegation is planning to conduct additional negotiations in Khojaly. Monitoring is expected to take place in the near future.
