Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attended the ceremony of launching the support block of the "Azeri-Central-East" platform at the Baku Deep Water Plant named after Heydar Aliyev on December 13, AzVision.az reports.
Gary Jones, the regional president of BP for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, and Rovshan Najaf, the president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan - SOCAR also attended the ceremony.
The project which has a budget of 6 billion dollars, includes a new offshore platform and other facilities with a production capacity of up to 100,000 barrels per day. It is predicted that up to 300 million barrels of oil will be produced during the operation period of the project.
