Mine that exploded in Kalbajar contained 7.5 kg of explosives - ANAMA

The mine that exploded in Chirag village of Azerbaijan's Kalbajar district contained 7.5 kg of explosives, Rafig Jabrayilov, an employee of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), told journalists, AzVision.az reports.

He said that currently, the area is contaminated with mines and is very dangerous: “We inspected the area. The crater of the explosion site was inspected and evidence was collected. According to the initial conclusion, there may be an explosion of a TM-62M anti-tank mine in the area. The evidence we took from the area is similar to the parts of that TM-62M type anti-tank mine.”

“I would also like to note that the TM-62M anti-tank mine is pressure-activated and contains 7.5 kg of explosives. The area is currently protected,” Jabrayilov added.

Today, a group of media representatives, with the support of the Ministry of Defense, visited the area where mine explosions took place in the Kalbajar district.
