Constitutional Court confirms outcome of presidential elections
The Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan held a session today to consider the final protocol of 9 October presidential elections in the country.

The session was chaired by Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Mammadov.

Judges Sona Salmanova and Rafael Qvalaci delivered a speech to the session.

Salmanova said the Central Election Commission has sent final election protocols to the Constitutional Court for confirmation. In turn, Qvalaci said the protocol on election results shows Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev has won great majority of votes.

The session was attended by Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov, parliamentarians and representatives of state agencies.

Following a break in the session, Constitutional Court Chairman Farhad Aliyev announced the results. He said the Constitutional Court Plenum has confirmed the outcome of the presidential elections.

“According to legislation, Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev is considered a president elect of Azerbaijan. The decision is final and no complaints are accepted.”
