An official reception marking the birthday of Japanese Emperor Naruhito has been arranged in Baku.
Speaking at the event, Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Junichi Wada hailed close diplomatic relations between the two countries. He noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, bilateral relations between Japan and Azerbaijan have been rapidly developing in various areas, including political, economic, cultural and educational ones.
The ambassador emphasized that various international events also made contribution to the development of the two countries` relations.
Azerbaijan`s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev underlined that there are close relations between the two countries. He noted that after Azerbaijan regained its independence, Japan was one of its main partners in many fields.
"Currently, the two countries enjoy successful cooperation in the field of clean energy. A conceptual document has been prepared for a green energy zone in the liberated territories", the minister said.
Mukhtar Babayev also expressed his confidence that the expansion of cooperation between Japan and Azerbaijan in all fields would be beneficial for both sides.
