Azerbaijani FM discuss bilateral ties with his counterpart from Qatar

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, as a part of the working visit to the country to attend the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) in Doha.

The sides hailed bilateral political relations existing between Azerbaijan and Qatar.

The meeting saw discussions on prospects of future cooperation in economic-trade, investment, finance, industry, energy, transport, education, tourism, culture and other fields.

Azerbaijani FM Jeyhun Bayramov provided insight into the current situation in the region, rebuilding projects in the liberated territories as well as the transport and communication ones implemented by Azerbaijan in the region. Minister Bayramov highlighted the opportunities between the two countries for cooperation in these directions.

The pair also discussed opportunities for cooperation within the Alat Free Economic Zone.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani emphasized that Qatar is interested in ‘comprehensive’ cooperation with Azerbaijan.

The sides also exchanged views on other regional issues.
