Speaker of Kazakhstan’s senate informed about Armenia’s provocations

Chairwoman of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev during her current working trip to Russian Federation, AzVision.az reports.

The two speakers referred to the positive growth dynamics of the ties between the friendly and fraternal states – the ties that embrace many areas and are getting special impetus from the leaders of the two states whose close relations help take co-operation forward and make it stronger. The speakers touched upon positive impact of reciprocal visits of the heads of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan on bilateral ties as well. They especially emphasized the importance of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s official visit to Kazakhstan on 10 April 2023 during which the two sides established the Supreme Inter-State Council and inked several documents so as to continue the progress of relations. In addition, a Heydar Aliyev Street was inaugurated in Astana in token of the Kazakhtan’s reverence to the memory of the Great Leader.

Mrs Gafarova and Mr Äşimbaev agreed that the two countries cooperate actively both on a bilateral basis and within international organizations, in particular the TÜRKPA.

Then, they touched upon the role of parliaments in development of inter-state relations. The activity of friendship groups in both countries’ parliaments was praised as well. The speakers also said that Azerbaijani and Kazakh MPs’ reciprocal trips and regular meetings at inter-parliamentary organizations are important for continuing the progress of bilateral relations in general as well as in terms of discussing mutually interesting topics.

Sahiba Gafarova briefed Ashimbayev about Azerbaijan’s implementing reconstruction projects on its liberated lands and Armenia’s provocations undermining the efforts to secure lasting peace in the region.
