The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Moldova hosted a reception in Chisinau to mark Azerbaijan’s Independence Day.
The event gathered a distinguished group of attendees, including Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament Igor Grosu, Minister of Energy Dorin Junghietu, former President Petru Lucinschi, former Prime Ministers Chiril Gaburici and Ion Chicu, Members of Parliament, ambassadors, public and political figures, diplomats, veterans of the Second Karabakh War, and diaspora activists.
The reception opened with the performance of the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Moldova.
In his remarks, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Moldova Ulvi Bakhshaliyev emphasized that May 28 is inscribed in golden letters in the history of the Azerbaijani people’s struggle for freedom and independence.
Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament Igor Grosu expressed his honor at participating in the celebration of Azerbaijan’s Independence Day.
“This year marks the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and these relations continue to develop dynamically and positively,” he said. “Azerbaijan is a pivotal partner for Moldova in both bilateral and international cooperation. On behalf of the Moldovan Parliament, I extend my most sincere congratulations to the people of Azerbaijan, wishing them peace, development, and continued prosperity.”
